What’s Biting Right Now

Late February / Early March 2026

Winter is loosening its grip across most of Florida, and the fishing is heating up. Water temps are climbing through the mid-60s on the Gulf Coast, which means spotted seatrout are stacked up in potholes and sandy areas on the flats. This is prime trout season.

Sheepshead are still thick around structure — docks, bridges, and rock piles. The redfish are starting to push back onto the flats as water warms, especially during afternoon high tides.
